United Methodist Women
The United Methodist Women will hold a group meeting on Wednesday, October 17 at 1:00 P.M. Hostesses are Mary Ballowe And Jeanette Butts. The “World Thank offering” program will be presented by Martha Heberle and a special mission offering will be received.
We also continue to receive gifts to the Legacy Fund which is creating a permeant investment source for retire deaconesses.
The date of the November Circle Meeting has been advance to Wednesday, November 14 to lessen conflicts with our celebration of Thanksgiving.
Another important change to our regular U.M.W. routine: Our lovely tradition—The Annual CHRISTMAS TEA this year will be held on a Saturday, December 8. Please note this new date and begin to invite your guests. They’ll love it!
U.M.W. is looking forward to an exciting and very busy year ahead. It is time to consider what we can pledge to the United Methodist Women’s Organization—our money, our services at events and our attendance at the Unit and Circle meetings when it is possible, as we have guest speakers who help us understand the needs in our community.
Our budget has been set at $4,000 as our goal. We give $750 each quarter to World Missions; $75 each quarter to the Blackfeet mission; $150 each quarter to FUMC for child care; and $100 each year to the Rescue Mission, Mercy Home, Food Bank, Children’s Receiving Home and to the Salvation Army. In addition, we give $200 a year to the Intermountain Children’s Home. We also give Christmas gift to our staff. If you do the math, you can see that we exceed our $4,000 budget.
We welcome all new members!!
