William Wesley Van Orsdel, or more fondly called Brother Van, was a strong supporter of our church. As District Superintendent, he gave the first sermon in the first church in 1888 and the first sermon in the new sanctuary in 1903. He told Rev. J. A. Martin to encourage the building of a new parsonage in 1908. We realize the effects of his positive influence even today, over a hundred years after his death.
For that reason, we sing his song and celebrate his birthday in March. On Sunday, March 18, the Brother Van Experience Committee is planning to have a brunch in Brother Van’s honor during the fellowship time. Please plan to join us after church service. It won’t be the same if you aren’t there. Please join us.
